Stir together the coffee and hot water until blended. Toss in butter, sugar, and honey, then heat gently till butter melts completely. Set this aside for 10-15 minutes to cool.

Throw vanilla, anise, nutmeg, and allspice into the cooled mix. Stir till it’s nicely combined.

Stir in eggs, then add the fizzing soda-vinegar mixture, along with baking powder. Combine slowly.

Fold the flour gently into the mix until a dough forms. Cover it up and let it sit either for a few hours or overnight.

Scoop out small portions (about 1 tablespoon each), roll into little balls, and place them on trays. Bake in a 325°F oven for 20-25 minutes.

Whisk milk and powdered sugar into a glaze. Dunk each cooled cookie in and set them to dry before serving.
