Dog Birthday Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
02 - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
03 - 3/4 cup plain white flour.
04 - 1 large egg.
05 - 2 tablespoons honey.
06 - 2 tablespoons peanut butter, plain and natural.
07 - 1/4 cup applesauce with no sugar added.
08 - 2 tablespoons oil.
09 - 1/2 cup thick whipping cream to frost.

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F. Get a 6-inch round pan lined with parchment and spray some nonstick cooking spray on it.
02 - Stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Then add the peanut butter, oil, applesauce, egg, and honey. Keep mixing until smooth, then pour it all into the ready-to-go pan.
03 - Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes until the top is golden. Check the middle with a toothpick—it should come out dry. Let it cool down all the way before frosting.
04 - Take the heavy cream and beat it until it's thick and forms peaks. Spread it all over the cooled cake.

# Notes:

01 - Peanut butter with xylitol should never be used—it's harmful to dogs.
02 - Double the frosting to stack this into layers!
03 - Check with your vet if your dog has any food sensitivities.
