Creamy Marsala Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1/2 medium onion, diced
02 - 8 ounces mushrooms, cut into slices
03 - 2 tablespoons butter
04 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
05 - 1 clove garlic, finely chopped

→ Sauce

06 - 1/3 cup marsala wine
07 - 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
08 - 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
09 - 1 cup heavy cream
10 - Salt and pepper as needed
11 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - On medium heat, toss onion and mushrooms in melted butter and oil. Stir occasionally for about 10 minutes till soft and golden.
02 - Throw in the minced garlic and mustard. Cook for half a minute while stirring.
03 - Add the marsala and let it reduce for around 30 seconds to a minute.
04 - Mix in the cream and slurry. Simmer for 5 minutes until it thickens. Add seasoning and parsley before serving.

01 - Choose dry or semi-sweet marsala for this.
02 - Perfect with chicken, pork, or even steak.
03 - Best enjoyed fresh and hot.
