Italian Sausage Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella
02 - 8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
03 - 16 ounces Italian sausage

→ Sauce Base

04 - 1 teaspoon sugar
05 - 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
06 - 2 tablespoons tomato paste
07 - 3 cups beef broth
08 - 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
09 - Crushed red pepper flakes to taste
10 - 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
11 - 1 teaspoon onion powder

→ For Serving

12 - Salt and pepper to taste
13 - Fresh parsley or basil
14 - Grated parmesan cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Heat a pot over medium-high and brown the sausage, breaking it into pieces for about 8-10 minutes. Pour off any grease.
02 - Sauté garlic with tomato paste for a minute, then mix in crushed tomatoes, broth, and seasonings.
03 - Add the spaghetti once it’s boiling. Stir it now and then, letting it simmer uncovered for 12 minutes.
04 - Take it off the heat, sprinkle mozzarella on top, cover for 5 minutes, stir, and serve with your favorite toppings.

# Notes:

01 - If the mixture gets too thick, add a splash of liquid.
02 - Ground sausage works or remove casings if linked.
03 - The sauce is perfect for leftovers or extra servings.
