Glazed Apple Bites (Printable Version)

Tender apple-packed bites with cinnamon and cider glaze. A tiny, tasty treat for cool-weather days.

# What You'll Need:

→ Bite Mixture

01 - 1 ½ cups plain flour
02 - 2 tsp cinnamon powder
03 - ½ tsp coarse salt
04 - 2 tsp baking powder
05 - ¼ cup melted butter (unsalted)
06 - ¼ cup white sugar
07 - 1 large egg
08 - ½ tsp vanilla flavoring
09 - ½ cup applesauce (no added sugar)
10 - 1 ½ cups finely chopped Gala or Honeycrisp apples (2 medium-sized)

→ Cider Glaze

11 - 2 cups powdered sugar
12 - ⅓ cup and 2 tbsp apple juice or cider

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set your oven to 400°F. Lightly coat your baking sheet with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
02 - In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until everything looks evenly mixed.
03 - In a bigger bowl, whisk the melted butter with the sugar. Add the applesauce, egg, and vanilla, then whisk again until smooth.
04 - Gently stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined—don’t mix too much! Fold in the apple pieces last.
05 - Drop rounded spoonfuls of the batter onto your greased sheet, keeping them a little apart. Bake for 10 minutes.
06 - As the bites bake, combine the powdered sugar and cider in a bowl. Whisk until smooth and runny enough to drizzle.
07 - Once baked, turn the oven to broil. Brush each warm bite with glaze, then broil for 2-4 minutes, turning the tray to bubble the glaze evenly. Brush on extra glaze once cooled and wait 15 minutes before enjoying.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Tastes best when eaten the same day for fresh glaze
02 - Chopping apples finely ensures smooth texture
03 - Be sure to watch closely during broiling to avoid burning
