German Brownie Bars (Printable Version)

A two-in-one treat that combines rich brownies with coconut-pecan frosting, all topped off with chocolate chips for an indulgent dessert.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring.
02 - A single egg, large size.
03 - A can (14 oz) of condensed milk, sweetened.
04 - 3 tablespoons of water, or follow the brownie mix box directions.
05 - 1 1/2 cups of coconut flakes, sweetened.
06 - A family-size box (18.3 oz) of brownie mix.
07 - 2/3 cup of cooking oil, use what’s noted on the mix box if needed.
08 - 2 big eggs or however many your brownie box calls for.
09 - 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces.
10 - 1 cup of pecan pieces, toasted if you want (optional).

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F and let it warm up.
02 - Coat your 13x9 baking dish with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
03 - Toast pecans in a dry pan for 2-5 minutes. Let them cool off after.
04 - Stir all brownie ingredients together until smooth with just a few lumps.
05 - Spread the brownie batter into your pan.
06 - Let it bake for 10 minutes so the edges start setting.
07 - Combine the condensed milk, egg, and vanilla first. Then mix in the coconut and pecans.
08 - Use a spoon to drop the topping over the slightly baked brownies.
09 - Spread out the chocolate chips on top of everything.
10 - Bake for another 25-30 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
11 - Let it cool completely so you can slice without a mess.
