Spread parchment paper over a baking tray.

On medium heat, mix sugar, water, salt, and corn syrup. Stir here and there until it hits 260°F.

Get egg whites to form peaks by whisking while the syrup's heating.

Drizzle hot syrup carefully into the whipped egg whites while mixing at high speed.

Continue beating until the mixture thickens, turns dull, and keeps its shape, about 6-10 minutes. Stir in vanilla and pecans.

Spoon out heaps onto the prepared paper. Swirl a little design on top using buttered spoons.

Leave them out to firm up at room temp. This might take all night.
