Easy Shepherd's Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meat Mixture

01 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt
02 - 1 cup of beef stock
03 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
04 - 1 medium onion, diced
05 - 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
06 - 1/2 teaspoon Italian herbs
07 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
08 - 2 tablespoons concentrated tomato paste
09 - 2 cups frozen veggies, mix of your choice
10 - 1 pound lean ground beef or lamb

→ Potato Layer

11 - Optional: fresh parsley to sprinkle on top
12 - Salt, 1/2 teaspoon
13 - 3 minced garlic cloves
14 - 1/2 cup thick cream
15 - 1/4 cup softened butter
16 - 2.5 pounds of peeled and quartered Russet potatoes
17 - A sprinkle of black pepper, if you like

# Instructions:

01 - Put the potatoes in boiling water. In the meantime, set your oven to 375°F and begin cooking the meat mixture.
02 - Cook the onions in melted butter until soft. Brown the meat with onions. Stir in the flour, seasonings, paste, then add stock and veggies.
03 - Heat up the cream, butter, and garlic in a small pan. Mash potatoes with this mixture until fluffy.
04 - Spread the meat mix into a 9x13 pan, cover it evenly with the mashed potatoes. Cook in the oven for a half hour, then briefly broil the top for some color.
