Banana Coffee Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour.
02 - 1/3 cup packed brown sugar.
03 - 2 teaspoons baking powder.
04 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon.
05 - 2 overly ripe bananas, smashed.
06 - 1/2 cup milk.
07 - 3/4 cup white sugar.
08 - 1/4 cup browned butter (from step 2).
09 - 1/4 cup more all-purpose flour.
10 - 1 large egg.
11 - 1 cup pecans or walnuts, optional.
12 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
13 - 1/4 cup browned butter (from step 2).

# Instructions:

01 - Set oven to 350°F. Coat a 9-inch square pan or 10-inch pie plate with non-stick spray.
02 - Melt 1/2 cup butter on low heat, stirring gently until it turns golden. Let it cool, then use for the batter and crumble topping.
03 - Combine white sugar, 1/4 cup browned butter, mashed bananas, egg, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and flour, mixing gently.
04 - Mix packed brown sugar, cinnamon, additional 1/4 cup flour, leftover browned butter, and nuts if you like.
05 - Spread the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle with crumble topping, and bake 30-40 minutes, depending on the pan size.

01 - Be careful not to burn the butter while cooking it.
02 - The baking time might change if your pan is thicker or thinner.
