Cheesy Beef Potato Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Key Ingredients

01 - 4-5 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
02 - 1 pound of ground beef
03 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
04 - 1 tablespoon of olive oil
05 - 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning (dried)
06 - Salt and black pepper, added as needed
07 - 1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese
08 - 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
09 - 2 minced garlic cloves
10 - 1/4 cup of milk (add for creamier texture, optional)
11 - 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
12 - 1/2 cup of broth (or water if preferred)
13 - Fresh parsley for topping (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven up to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a 9×13 pan with either olive oil or spray.
02 - Warm olive oil on medium heat in a big skillet. Toss in the beef and crumble while cooking, letting it brown (about 5-7 minutes). If greasy, drain leftovers.
03 - Mix in the onions and garlic. Stir and cook until the onions soften and turn yellowish (3-4 minutes).
04 - Spread the cooked beef into the baking pan. Lay the thin potato slices over, sprinkling paprika, salt, pepper, and the seasoning mix.
05 - On top of the potatoes, add the shredded cheddar and Parmesan. Carefully pour broth (or water) along the sides. If you want it creamier, add some milk too.
06 - Cover everything tightly with foil, placing it in the oven for 30 minutes. After, take off the foil and continue baking for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden, and the potatoes are cooked through.
07 - Wait 5 minutes once it’s out of the oven, then sprinkle parsley on top if you'd like. Serve warm.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure your potato slices are evenly thin so they cook properly.
02 - Skipping the fat draining step might leave the dish overly oily.
03 - Letting it sit helps all the flavors come together just right.
