Set your oven to 350°F and get two baking sheets ready with either parchment or silicone mats.

Whip the butter and powdered sugar together until it looks creamy and airy, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in the vanilla.

Slowly add in the flour and salt while on low speed. Mix just until it forms a dough—you don't want to overdo it.

Roll the dough into balls about 1 inch big, or pipe designs with a star tip. Space them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
