Slow Bourbon Chicken (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tbsp cornstarch.
02 - 2 lbs chicken thighs.
03 - A pinch of kosher salt and pepper.
04 - 3 tbsp cold water.
05 - A couple of garlic cloves, chopped finely.
06 - ⅓ cup bourbon whiskey.
07 - ¾ cup soy sauce.
08 - ¾ cup packed brown sugar.
09 - Optional: sliced green onions for topping.

# Instructions:

01 - Sprinkle the chicken thighs well with pepper and salt.
02 - Toss the seasoned chicken into the slow cooker.
03 - Stir together the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic.
04 - Drizzle the mixed sauce over the chicken in the pot.
05 - Cook covered for 3 hours on high or 4 hours on low.
06 - Stir together the water and cornstarch, then add to the sauce during the last 30 minutes. Let it cook till thick.
07 - Serve warm over rice and sprinkle green onions on top if you'd like.

# Notes:

01 - Bourbon can be swapped with apple juice.
02 - Thighs turn out better than breasts for this.
03 - Stays good in the fridge for up to 4 days.
04 - Sauce gets thicker as it cools off.
