Best Nutella Mochi (Printable Version)

Creamy Nutella inside soft, chewy mochi made with just 5 ingredients. Ready fast in around 45 minutes.

# What You'll Need:

→ Essentials

01 - 1/3 cup cornstarch (for dusting)
02 - 1 cup water
03 - 1 cup sticky rice flour (use mochiko)
04 - 1/4 cup sugar
05 - 1/2 cup Nutella

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pipe or drop 10 small Nutella portions onto a parchment-lined tray. Stick it in the freezer for 20-30 minutes until hardened.
02 - In a bowl that can go in the microwave, stir together the sugar and mochiko flour. Add the water, and whisk until there are no lumps.
03 - Cover the bowl with a damp paper towel. Microwave for a minute, stir, and repeat this 2-3 times. The dough will turn sticky and see-through. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to cool down.
04 - Dust your surface generously with cornstarch. Put the dough on it, sprinkle more cornstarch on top, and roll it out into a sheet about 1/4 inch thick. Cut it into 10 equal pieces.
05 - Take each dough piece, pop a Nutella chunk in the middle, and bring the edges up to cover it. Pinch to seal it closed. If needed, dust off the extra cornstarch and place seam-side down.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Keep them in a sealed container in the fridge for no more than 2 days.
02 - After 2 days, they’ll start drying out.
03 - Mochiko or glutinous rice flour is non-negotiable - other rice flours won’t work.
