Bourbon Balls (Printable Version)

Quick no-bake bites combining cocoa, bourbon, and pecans. Great for gifting or snacking, these sweet treats get tastier over time.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 cup pecans, finely ground (start with about 1 1/4 cups whole halves).
02 - 3/4 cup finely crushed vanilla wafers.
03 - 1/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened.
04 - 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted.
05 - 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey (or substitute).
06 - 3 tablespoons light corn syrup.
07 - 1/3 cup more powdered sugar for rolling.

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a big bowl, toss together pecan crumbs, cookie crumbs, cocoa, and powdered sugar until evenly mixed.
02 - Add the bourbon and corn syrup, then stir with a spoon until it just comes together.
03 - Get in there with your hands and knead it all until it's fully combined and smooth.
04 - If it feels sticky, stick the bowl in the fridge for about 15 minutes to firm up.
05 - Scoop out little amounts (roughly 1-inch bits) and roll them into neat balls between your palms.
06 - Coat each ball lightly by rolling them around in the extra powdered sugar until coated.
07 - Place the balls in an airtight container and let the flavors develop over the next 10 days.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Switch out bourbon for rum or juice if preferred.
02 - Toasting the pecans adds a richer taste.
03 - Use sprinkles or cocoa to coat instead of powdered sugar for a twist.
