Classic Butter Cookies (Printable Version)

Rich, tender cookies that dissolve on the tongue. Made with basic pantry items like butter, flour, sugar, vanilla, and a bit of salt.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
02 - 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour.
03 - 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
04 - 1 cup (120g) of powdered sugar.
05 - 1 cup (230g) of soft, unsalted butter.

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F and get two baking sheets ready with either parchment or silicone mats.
02 - Whip the butter and powdered sugar together until it looks creamy and airy, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in the vanilla.
03 - Slowly add in the flour and salt while on low speed. Mix just until it forms a dough—you don't want to overdo it.
04 - Roll the dough into balls about 1 inch big, or pipe designs with a star tip. Space them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
05 - Bake them for 10-12 minutes. The edges should start to look golden, but the tops will stay pale.
06 - Let the cookies rest on the sheet for 5 minutes. Then, move them to a cooling rack until they're fully cooled.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Try adding almond extract or lemon zest for a twist.
02 - Sprinkle sugar on top before baking or dip in chocolate after they're done.
03 - Keep them in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
